I always dreamt of visiting The Great Wall of China; however, today was the day I was actually going to visit it. I thought of how long it must have taken the people to build the walls, and if people lived in the little villages between the walls? I had all these thoughts that I was so curious to find out about!
As I got to The Great Wall of China, I was curious of how we would get up the wall. I knew that some people chose field programs that allowed them to visit a decent amount of The Great Wall, while I chose a field program that allowed me to just visit The Great Wall! Anyways, I wondered if we would have to hike up all the stairs, or if there was possibly an elevator? Luckily we found a chairlift that took our group up to a part of the wall where we would start hiking and exploring around. From there I was in awe!
Chairlift up The Great Wall of China
I had never seen anything so beautiful! It was amazing how much land there was, and how far the wall went. The views were amazing as well; however, the stairs climbing up certain parts of the wall were very steep. Soon I started taking videos and pictures of the wall, and the scenery. The Great Wall was just so amazing and I wanted to capture everything, from people to screaming, to how steep the stairs were, to the beauty and how clear the sky was! Sure it was a cold day, but I asked my friend Alyssa ( my chairlift buddy) to take a picture of me, as I took of my jacket, putting it to the side. I posed and tried to get some candid pictures with 'The Wall.' I even was brave enough to lick it, wanting to make a mark on the wall! The whole day was amazing, and soon before I knew it, it was time to go. I then wondered how we were going to get down 'The Wall.' Would we take the chairlift back down or would we have to walk the way? I soon watched as we all lined up. I wondered why, and soon realized that we were going to be tobogganing down The Great Wall of China.

Tobogganing down The Great Wall of China was so much fun. We got in the little toboggans and had the ability to control the speed. Speeding down the hill was amazing. I was yelling, not knowing if someone was behind me or not, and worried that I might hit someone, but they made us wait a few seconds before going in order to not hit anyone. Some people actually hit people on purpose though, trying to be funny. The whole day was amazing, and I was extremely happy that I was able to say, "I visited The Great Wall of China!"
